Notes:

While there have been a number of articles on HM published in various literary magazines, this is the only full length monograph about her to be published to date. I have to say that I was not a fan of Swanwick's earlier monograph on James Branch Cabell, but I thought this work was much better. It's not easy to find - I had this title on my ABE wants list for two years before one popped up. Temporary Culture only printed 200 trade copies, along with five lettered presentation copies and 25 signed and numbered copies in a special binding. The example shown here is one of the 200 trade copies, but it is signed on the title page. Hope-in-the-Mist is readily available as an eBook, and if you can't find a hard copy that is a reasonable substitute. It is definitely the best work about her to appear so far.
