The translation used in this edition, by Dr. Helmut Pesch, was first published in 1985 in a paperback edition by Baste Lubbe, *FoE-Ger-1 (w).
This was Volume II of Michael Plogmann's planned publication of Die Werke James Branch Cabells. Volume I, Literatur und Leben (Beyond Life), *BL-Ger-1, was issued simultaneously in a uniform binding. Sadly, twenty years on no more volumes have been forthcoming. However, his translation of Das weiße Gewand (The White Robe) was published in Joachim Körber's Das große Lesebuch der klassischen Fantasy, 1998.
