Notes:
James Hall does not list this 1928 printing in his bibliography. This is perhaps understandable, as for some reason it is not listed among the previous printings in the 1932 revised edition, A11b. While the text itself does not appear to be modified from the earlier versions, this printing differs from both the two 1925 printings and the later revised edition in minor ways. There is a photo of Cabell as a frontispiece, which is not present in any other printing. The list of books by "MODERN AMERICAN WRITERS", also present in the 1925 printings, has been updated (omitted in the 1932 edition). The Cabell bibliography that follows the text has been updated, and a note advertising the upcoming Storisende edition has been appended. For the 1932 revision, this bibliography was again updated, and the Storisende note omitted.
