Notes:
While The Mezentian Gate was the last to be written and published, it is chronologically the first book of the Zimiamvian trilogy. It covers a period of more than seventy years, beginning twenty years before the birth of King Mezentius and ending with his death. The second book, both chronologically and in order of publication, is A Fish Dinner in Memison. That book, in its Zimiamvian portions, takes place over a five week period, ending nearly one year before the king's death. The first book to be published, and the final one in the chronology, is Mistress of Mistresses. Its narrative takes place over the two years beginning ten months after the death of King Mezentius.
